It has been a tough year for nonprofits and it's only going to get tougher. And for many families the holidays will be hard given the state of the economy.
There are nonprofits that are trying to help and you don't have to necessarily have to give money and you don't have to give time - you can give stuff. Check out that closet - you know the one that you can barely close the door? The stuff you don't want, the stuff you don't need, is needed by others. Desperately.
Go to Do Good Boston and take a look around - here are just a couple of choices:
- Holiday Gifts for People in Need (hats, mittens, etc.)
- Holiday Toy Drive (gifts for infants, toddlers - clothing, baby books, etc.)
Check out all the in kind holiday donations needed in Boston. Heck, don't just limit it to the holidays - check out all the in kind donation needs in Boston.
And if you're in another city - go to the Do Good Channel, select 'in kind donation request' under 'All Ways To Participate' in the search widget and find a terrific opportunity to make a difference.
- Do Good Atlanta
- Do Good Chicago
- Do Good Houston
- Do Good Sarasota
- Do Good San Antonio
- Do Good San Francisco
- Do Good Tampa/St. Pete
And when you find something good - share it. Stick it on Facebook. Email it to a friend. Make a difference.
Do Good this holiday season.
There are nonprofits - there are people - who need your help.
