When we launch in a local market we reach out to a targeted list of potential partners – nonprofits that we dub aggregators. These are organizations that in turn reach a whole bunch of individual nonprofits.
In advance of the launch of Do Good Chicago at The Chicago Tribune we started working, via phone and email, our target list of potential partners in the local market. United Ways are on that list so we reached out to folks at United Way of Lake County. After a quick online call/demo with them they thought what we were doing would be very cool for local nonprofits so they came on board as a launch partner and added their profile in the Do Good channel. We worked with them on messaging that they could share with their nonprofit partners and they started pinging out to their list of 100 nonprofits.
And in just a couple of weeks 16 of their partners were on board and in Do Good Chicago.
Sixteen and it's just been a few weeks. Pretty cool. That's why we love our partners.
See below for an email they just sent out to their nonprofits.
