A huge, new milestone for good2gether and for our nonprofit partners.
Nine markets have launched with Do Good channels: Do Good Atlanta, Do Good Austin, Do Good Boston, Do Good Chicago, Do Good Houston, Do Good San Antonio, Do Good San Francisco, Do Good Sarasota, and Do Good Tampa. In those markets we're connecting tens of thousands of people each month to nonprofits and their programs, events, volunteering opportunities, and more.
And because we passionately believe that more people should be doing good, in the near future we'll be launching Do Good channels in Hartford, Philadelphia, St. Louis, West Palm Beach, Minneapolis, Westchester County (NY), Wilmington (DE), Nashville, Des Moines, Fort Myers, and Rochester (NY).
Now let me give you another big - really, really, big - reason every nonprofit should be on board the good2gether bandwagon, we are thrilled to announce that USA Today has launched Do Good USA Today.
This is a game changer.
Every month USAToday.com has over ten million visitors and they come from every state in the union. Wherever nonprofits have chapters, USA Today has readers. And now they'll be giving those readers ways to get engaged with nonprofits through their own Do Good channel. In fact, USA Today is so committed to helping nonprofits, they've launched a new section - Sharing. Take a look. Sharing is dedicated to the latest stories about people helping others through charities, non profits, or philanthropies. You can even search for local charities and ways you can help. And how would you do that? Take a look at the upper right hand corner of Sharing? There's a connect2cause widget that will connect USA Today readers to nonprofits everywhere.
And see the featured activities in the connect2cause widget? We'll be updating those frequently and they'll be used to promote volunteering, events, and in kind donation needs for our nonprofit partners. When it's Earth Day, we'll focus on green organizations and their needs. When it's Heart Month, we'll feature related engagement from the American Heart Association. Throughout the year, we'll bring focus to causes and the ways to get involved. In fact, we'll be rolling this ability out to all of our connect2cause widgets at all of our newspaper partners - tens of millions of people each month will see events, volunteering opportunities, and in kind donation needs from our partners. Here's the key part of that sentence - from our partners. If you and your local chapters aren't in our network, you can be featured.
We can help nonprofits connect to more people, to get more people involved in their cause – taking part in the Do Good network works. And with USA Today on board, it doesn't matter where a chapter is located, we've got it covered.
